Impreza wins SKOTH

Singapore Impreza managed to defeat Malaysia KingSurf in the semi-finals and Indonesia XcN in the grand finals of the Samsung King of the Hill DotA tournament! For a while now KingSurf and XcN were considered the best teams in Asia and when it came to Singapore, Zenith has always taken the spotlight.

Impreza has really proven themselves as a threat at this tournament, allowing themselves to knock out both KingSurf and XcN. Unfortunately most of the final games, including the grand finals were reloaded replays.

Sixty four teams participated for a pool of $3000 in prize money. Impreza managed to top them all and take home the $1500 for first place and claim the King of the Hill title.

SKOTH was an online tournament by the Asian World Cyber Games. WCG Asia will take place in Singapore in August this year and you can expect Impreza, KingSurf, XcN and many more attending. Impreza won SKOTH, but will XcN get revenge at WCG Asia? Stay tuned to find out!

SKOTH prizes:

  1. $1500 - Singapore Impreza

  2. $1000 - Indonesia XcN Trilogy

  3. $500 - Malaysia KingSurf

Very surprising indeed. But KS and XcN are in the top 3 again. To bad the finals game was reloaded, would have loved to see that game. Looks like another strong team for others to aware of of.

I read that the XcN team carry hero player(lakuci?) was lagging badly during grand final match with impreza and went 1-12

and the grand final was a best of 1 game format

It sucks when lag or virus make you lose game but if xcn was really lagging they should ask for rm in game. I am sure if other team is good sportmanshipp they will be happy to rm and change host. No sense talking about it after you lost the game.

its useless to rmk...
they only have 5 PC at that time

the problem isn't the connection...but 1 PC <lakuci PC>

That is why they should get an anti virus and clean the comp and play another day.

"XcN vs impreZa

Sentinel(impreZa) –Qop(Top) Skeleton King + Ts(Mid) Zeus + Earthshaker(Bottom)
Scourge(XcN) - Sandking+Necrolyte(Top), Tinker(Mid), Potm+Centaur(Bottom)

XcN had opted to go for an interesting early game domination with heros like Necrolyte and Tinker, able to instant kill any hero immediately with laser missle + reaper combo.
Should anything go wrong, a engage could easily turn into their favor with centaur blink stun, sandking epicenter or potm’s moon light shadow, with necrolytes fast cooling heal.

impreZa on the other hand, opting to go for a more defensive traditional backup style with Skeleton King and Earthshaker, with Zeus, Ts and QoP for the massive aoe damage output.

For the early part of the game, XcN had many movements around the map, with sandking initially at bottom lane camping for rune, then on seeing a haste rune, went on to top to aid the necrolyte. Centaur had also moved from bottom to middle as tinker was very vulnerable to a series of combo’s from the skeleton king + ts.

impreZa was seen relying on wards to avoid ganks + gank them at top/mid, trying to get their outer tower down. This left skeleton king able to free farm at bottom for awhile, until necrolyte decided to pay him a visit.

At top engage, necrolyte was brought down fast with a far ranged fissure + ts qop combo.
Leaving the top tower defenseless. Slowly impreZa begin to established map control, with precise warding to shutdown XcN’s farm.

The game went downhill for XcN as they were getting caught more and more before each engagement, reducing their ability to defend towers greatly.

Soon XcN called gg and the game was soon over.

KingSurf vs impreZa

Ks(sentinel) – Tormented soul+ skeleton king(Top), Potm(Mid), Centaur+SP(Bottom)
impreZa(scourge)-SF+NA(Top), Magnataur(Mid), Necrolyte+Zeus(Bottom)

Sentinel had opted for a late game oriented hero with Potm as a main damage output dealer, and with skeleton + centaur as huge tanks.

The thing about shadow priest is although its effectiveness of heal + poison/slow depreciates as the game progresses, his ultimate in turn becomes more useful, able to ensure a hero’s farm from early to late game. Tormented soul on the other hand is for its pushing abilities and massive aoe damage from early to late game.

Scourge had opted for a more engagement oriented draft, with magnataur/nerubian assassin as initiater, and a follow up reqieum of souls + wrath of zeus would be devastating. Necrolyte would be a counter to the tanks as his ultimate would rip them apart at half health.

The game remains intense throughout early to mid with scores tied very evenly.
It was hard to get an advantage in terms of towers as catching a graved hero would just mean that the hero would tp back in 15 seconds after he dies.

Early game, Ts + skeleton king would stay at top, with constant pressure ensured SF slow farm.
Yet to balance this up, magnataur was doing steadily well against the potm, getting his items dagger/bot before 20 minutes. Another thing to note was that potm had left middle lane to gank top, but without much success, allowing magnataur to freefarm plus outlevel the rest of the heros.

Meanwhile at bottom lane, necrolyte and zeus had scored an early double kill, which allowed them to have early control of the lane, rendering the centaur unable to come out to get creeps.

Mid game, although potm was caught a few times, grave prevented him from losing gold, in turn he got his item up, proving to be a force to reckon with. Some crucial arrows strucked allow him to get the kill and farm in lane for a period of time.

As the game looms into late game, Kingsurf heros proved to be untouchable if a perfect engagement from impreZa didn’t occur. After a grave mistake made by impreZa, Kingsurf smashed into the bottom side of the base bringing a huge hole.

Trying to remain control of the game, Kingsurf centaur bought a cyclone, perhaps to render mag/sf useless while pushing.

However, a few nice reverse + requiem brought impreZa back into the game, although the casualties of the aftermath battle was a lost a mid base tower.
impreZa started catching, planting wards trying to establish map control again, with success, catching down heros efficiently, allowing impreZa to make a dent in middle of sentinel’s base.

Seeing that we had a chance to win, potm started to backdoor scourge’s top while impreZa heroes was roshaning. But hexes from necrolyte + hex prevented potm from escaping and hence died.

Thus impreZa started pushing mid, with a stroke of luck, potm bought out and joined the skeleton +centaur pushing mid. As magnataur was in the vicinity along with us, a perfect 3 hero suck + combo killed them all, allowing a straight throne rush, bring the game to an exhilarating end."

Enjoy
