A line of computers. People with sponsored shirts. DotA on every screen. People watching and cheering their favorite team. It's a whole different world, one that my team has yet to enter. Soon we will, six girls will gather to compete against teams like MYM and eMg at Fire in Ice 2007 in Chicago!

Pressure, pressure, pressure. That's all I have felt the last 2 months. While I'm folding shirts at my job at a clothing store, or sitting in the library at my college, I'm constantly thinking about one thing; my team. I have even mapped out strategies during classes! That may seem a little obsessive but, I guess that's just how much I value my team.

My team has been training like CRAZY. I forced scheduled practices, at least two days a week where I even take attendance. Clan wars, lane controls, watching replays or simply playing a TDA...we do it all. If I can tell you one thing, we are not a joke team of a bunch of girls giggling and looking to be cute. We take everything we do SERIOUS. We get as upset, if not MORE upset than any other team when we lose. Winning a clan war or a match will single handedly be the highlight of our day.

We are dreading and yearning for Chicago at the same time. The girls on my team have become the object of my affection and one of the most important things in my life. I have been waiting for the day that we'll all be brought together, and it is coming. While we are anxiously waiting to meet each other, play DotA together, laugh/talk together and even share a large hotel room together ;).... there is still a sense of anxiety in all of us. Will we put up a good fight? Will we impress anyone? Will we break a barrier about female gaming?

Whatever happens...my team will survive it. Whether we provide an upset or get knocked out in the beginning, I'm sure we'll have a great time. And whatever the result, I'm sure the next tuesday and thursday in January I'll see 7 girls sitting on ventrilo, determined to improve in their next practice. And that's more than any leader can be proud of.

Michelle, Caryl, Eva, Jenny and Kristina...kick ass at Chicago!!!. I'm so proud to be the leader of such a dedicated and determined team. Lets show these boys what we're made of...and that's not sugar, spice and everything nice ;)

If you really want to be good it takes much more effort that this. Make it daily, 2 hrs at least and we shall see then the results :).
