Neutral creeps, no last hit/deny worries, no harrassing, pushing/pulling the wave. Looks like an easy way to level up right?

WRONG! Jungling is harder thank you think, and it takes practice and strategy. That's what puts the difference in an effective jungling hero/player and one that isn't. In theory, any hero can go jungling. Problem is, some of them are countlessly better than others. Want examples? Usually heroes who can spam some time of AoE skill without having to go regenerate all the time, heroes with summoning skills or even ones who can take a lot of damage. We'll have a special mention to the Beastmaster too. Also, remember that buying a stout shield in the start of the game helps a lot in the 'art of surviving' :P

First of all, let's mention the AoE Spammers:

Luna Moonfang, the Moon Rider:
Moon glaives are all you need. They might have a slight 35% of damage loss per target, but they permit you to strike many enemies in one shot, and, most important, almost at the same time. (Remember, you have to be quick at jungling as you don't have constant waves as you have in-lane).

Leviathan, the Tidehunter:
Not my favorite jungling hero but can also be used. Anchor smash doesn't cost mana and strikes nearby heroes for an amount of damage. Useful, but might be better in-lane.

Rigwarl, the Bristleback:
One of the most famous junglers, imo. Quill spray packs quite a punch and is usually used for stack jungling. I'll mention that with more details later. When catching level 6, Warpath also helps at killing them faster.

Mogul Khan, the Axe:
Another one included in the famous jungling heroes list, Axe is quite useful when using Counter Helix as your best offense. 17% per hit, that'll damage them with a counter helix for 100/125/150/175 damage. Pretty useful, actually.

Crixalis, the Sand King:
Yes, Sand King. Caustic Finale is a great AoE skill for killing units, and doesn't cost any mana. Of course, he might be a lot more useful in-lane than jungling, but who knows which circumstance your game might hold? Crix could be a great option.

Yurnero, the Juggernaut:
Spammable might not be the best description for Yurnero's 'Bladefury', but people usually use it while in the jungle. Great for when in lower levels that you can't take much damage as of low armor or even hitpoints.

Ishkafel, the Dark Seer:
Ion shell is a great AoE skill when blocking, but has a manacost. Might not be forever spammed, but deals 450 damage right on the first level. Pretty good for killing higher leveled creeps when in low levels.

Now I'll talk about the Summoning Skilled Heroes:

Syllabear, the Lone Druid:
One of the best (If not THE best...) summoning heroes, specially in jungling. Spirit Bear has no time limit and can tank a lot while you damage the creeps. In higher levels, he even gains a return and 'stun' (Entangle) ability. Talk about over?

Aiustha, the Enchantress:
Even though she doesn't summon anyone, Enchant can bring a target unit under your control. Very useful for tanking while you do the hard work. Problem is: It only lasts for 30 seconds, which makes the ability quite limited, as you'll have to use it many times.

Chen, the Holy Knight:
Same as the example above, Chen has his own 'Enchant' ability, Holy Persuasion. Difference is, the unit lasts "forever" and you can persuade up to 3 units, also giving them a bonus to HP. Extremely useful skill for jungling. Test of Faith also helps when you need to regenerate all of your creeps and want them to return to the base quickly.

Terrorblade, the Soul Keeper:
Conjure image might not be the best summoning skill ever made, but helps killing units faster, and soul steal will give you the regeneration you need to survive. Great jungling hero.

Banehallow, the Lycanthrope:
Summon wolves that in higher levels can have bash and critical strikes. As your leve grows, so does your farm, and drastically in this case. Lycan can take a lot of damage, too, if your wolves won't survive long and you need them to farm faster.

Black Arachnia, the Broodmother:
Spin Web grants extra regeneration and invisibility when exposed to oponent heroes trying to gank the lane closer to you.

Dirge, the Undying:
His zombie creating skill can create an army of zombies which can fasten your farm, create more zombies the more they attack AND heal you when dead. 3 in 1, it's all you actually need.

Furion, the Prophet:
How about summoning your own 'lane creeps'? :D
Furion's 'Force of Nature' is a great skill when blocking and attacking neutral creeps, as he isn't the best damage taking hero...
Also, teleportation is pretty useful when returning to base and regenerating fastly.

I couldn't think of a name for the category of the heroes below, as they adopt a different jungling style:

Bradwarden, the Centaur Warchief:
His return helps a lot when killing several small units, even when being a tank is one of the most important roles for this hero. Perfect skill when comboed with a stout shield/vanguard.

Rexxar, the Beastmaster:
Well, this particular case doesn't have a skill that helps make you kill the creeps faster, but Wild Axes can destroy trees and damage creeps from quite a distance. This is one of the best creep pulling skills (Will be explained in details in the end of the guide).

Now, we'll talk about jungling strategies.

Stack Jungling:
This is the act of pulling the neutral creeps some seconds before more creeps spawn. One of the best heroes this is used is Bristleback, as quill spray can call many creeps from different spawns at the same time.

These are great Stack Jungling Bristleback videos, they're very useful to watch:
Sentinel Guide.
Scourge Guide.

Creep Pulling:
The most famous creep pulling jungling heroes is Rexxar. Wild axes has the perfect sinergy, as you can pull various spawns at the same time, which is countless times harder with other heroes.

This is a great Creep Pulling video, acted by MYM|Merlini:
Rexxar Jungling by Merlini

Conclusion:
Well, I hope you liked the guide. It's not the most complete jungling guide ever made, but it describes in a short way how to use some heroes in your forest side of the map. It doesn't matter if your sentinel or scourge, both can be 'jungled'. Also, try to make your own strategies and combinations, as you might discover new ways to jungle with many different heroes, just improvise!

Good game for you all,
Khev ~

Gj, good guide, I particularly disbelieve in axe's jungling potential, for his late game is completely blank.

farmin sk? never ever.. he is better when used as a line hero. His skill does only help to farm late game vs creep colonies. His poison skill is not for jungle farming.

Of course, he might be a lot more useful in-lane than jungling, but who knows which circumstance your game might hold?

I did mention he's better at the lane, but I've seen great Sand King junglers.

I just made a simplification of useful types of jungling heroes. There are different ways of jungling, I just wanted to say which heroes were possible to do it, and how. :)

The problem is that there are much better guides @ dota-allstars.com and more people are using them because they are often proved or rated in contest. This guide is only usefull as a summary when you allready are well informed about all possibilities of jungling skillz

matthe88, ok. I'll write a separate jungling guide for each hero, what do you think about that?
