Sentinel x Scourge? Human x 'Monster'? What makes one hero picked more in certain occasions then is the other? Why are they similar? Why are the different? We'll study here their similarities, their differences, and most important, their advantages. Lina Inverse, The Slayer vs. Leshrac, Tormented Soul First of all, let's compare their 'similar' skills. 1. Dragon Slave vs. Lightning Storm Well, let's start with their basic nuke. Even though their not fully equal skills, they have a pretty much similar manacost, though Storm's cooldown is 3s faster then Slave's, which adds a very nice advantage for Leshrac. For Lina's luck, Dragon Slave can be used even when the enemy is in the fog of war, as you do not have to choose a target when using the skill. This ensures some pretty neat kills. I'd consider this a tie. 2. Light Strike Array vs. Split Earth Now we go for the stuns. Both have an almost identic cooldown, so that won't stay in our way here. The thing is, LSA's manacost is extremely lower than Earth's in higher levels. Leshrac's advantage is that his stun duration and Area of Effect become higher than Lina's on the last levels. Again, another tie. 3. Ultimate vs. Diabolic Edict Although these skills don't have anything in common, we'll have to compare their effectiveness in the herooes' sinergies between abilities and strategies. Truth is, I think we could call 'Ultimate' a spare skill, only for a DPSer Lina - which we won't be seeing everyday - so we could call this a 'Not Sinnergical' skill for this hero. Point is: Diabolic Edict is trully an useful skill when pushing/destroying towers, or even for damaging surrounding heroes. Easy win for Lesh, here. 4. Laguna Blade vs. Pulse Nova These Heroes last skill is, also, a lot different. On Lina's side, a Mass Damaging Single Target skill, and Lesh's AoE DPS. Let's study their effectiveness: Lina can ensure a last hit kill, or even a good first blow to decrease one's life and ensure the carrier gets the kill. On the other hand, Leshrac has an AoE DPS very useful when fighting alongside Treant Protector, Magnus, or other AoE combos. Trully, both are also used in different situations, but Lesh's skill costs a whole lot of manacost if used for a somewhat long period of time. Imo, Lina wins here. 5. Stats Comparation Well, as the skills were tied, let's compare their stats. Both heroes' ranges are 600 units. No problem here. Lina's movespeed is extreeemely below Lesh's (280 vs. 300). Easy win here. Lesh's stat gains are highly superior to lina's. Their strength stays mainly the same, but Lesh's agility is uncountable times higher (This gives armor and attack speed, which is somehwat useful) and their base intelligence doesn't differ much, though Leshrac start with a lot more Intelligence and, therefore, has higher base damage and mana, as well as regeneration. Leshrac wins here. Well, after this, what do we conclude? Tied. Tied. Leshrac. Lina. Leshrac. Leshrac 2x1 Lina, but this doesn't mean Leshrac is superior in all ways. As I've said before, it doesn't matter if the hero won a comparation against another one that he is superior, it just makes him 'better' - if we can call it better - in a general way. Leshrac takes a more pusher style of play and Lina kind of a killer hero. Well, hope this brightens some doubts, and hope you liked my comparation. i think that lina is more useful cos of laguna blade that means that a 5x5 become a 5x4, what makes a great difference Watch and learn.

imo, you'll commonly see a slayed Tormented Soul more than a slayed Slayer. Well, you need comparison between items too. Who knows one of them has BKB? -.-"

Nice comparation. Leshrac is more useful for long combos, in my opinion. Lina is the best to a fast kill with Laguna Blade. It's Coke time!

Lina is for burst damage. Lesh is for dealing out huge DPS in team battles over a period of time.

nice one! Anyway, you didn't do a deep overall analysis... You can't compare the heroes talking about skill X skill. DotA skills aren't balanced. The heroes tend to be, but not the skills... balance depends about the hero and how much each skill is useful to it. Looking for Leshrac you obviously see a much more slow-damager hero, with its damn AOE skills and low-damage/fast-cooldown lightning. But Lina, for example, is much more overfast-damager hero, specially because of the high-damaged nuke. Leshrac tend to be better in big AOE combos that use a lot area stuns and disablers, giving u time to PWN everyone. For example, it's better in combos with treant, magnus or dark terror. Lina is obviously much better in very fast kill combos, specially if you're talking about line-ups with a lot of trappers and heavy nukers. You just want to kill the targets fastly and get out in the most of the cases. For example, if you want to hunt someone in jungle, u just need her and some stunner... you go there, kill the target in some seconds and go out fastly. Another example is teams with venge, when you swap with venge you just want to kill the target as fast as u can to remove this hero without giving any reaction, for this case Lina is obviously better! Another interesting point when you talk about "Lina x Leshrac" is that Lina doesn't need to get to the center of the highlights, but Leshrac needs it. Two of Leshrac's skills are based in the AOE around it, forcing him to sometimes suicide himself to do something. If you pick Leshrac u really need a good player and/or lots of woe stunners to support him. U just have to look for the scores of both heroes in professional games, both seem to be focused all the time, but good players use to get positive scores with Lina much more than with Leshrac. The fact is, both seem to be very similar but they have some differences, you have to pick carefully! "[21:43:04] <@MYM|smile> vou LIBERAR" ... vc quem sabe ^^

Sure, Lina is a lot faster in the terms of killing, but has it's effectiveness pretty much reduced as the game goes up to late game, where leshrac still has pulse nova, which actually not only helps him to farm, but gives quite a punch. Not to mention the attack animations, etc etc. www.dotanews.co.nr
