After the Slovakian qualifier for the Samsung European Championships was held, everyone thought that the winner of the event would be awarded their rightful position at the SEC Finals in Hannover. However, it is not so simple.

Today the organisers of the Slovakian event announced that NECRORAISERS'fu.sk could not attend the finals in CeBIT after Korean representatives from the World Cyber Games informed the that Slovakia could not participate in the competition.

"Samsung Euro Championship 2007 had to take place without the representations of Slovakia and Czech republic. Although the interest of Slovak players for the event was large, we tried to persuade German organisators to allow the participation of the Slovak team in Hannover. We were given the allowance in the end. We prepared the qualifications, made up the representative team, booked the accomodations and the tickets. This morning, we were contacted by Korean agents of World Cyber Games who announced, without any details, that Slovakia could definetly not enter Samsung Euro Championship 2007. I am personally very sad because of their decision but it can not be changed. I am honestly sorry for our representatives who tried hard and finished the qualifications and I am also sorry for the players who were looking forward to seeing Slovaks on CeBit. It is very hard to judge objectively where the mistake was made and what are the reasons of this abrupt change. However, I think if we take into consideration Samsung Euro Championship - the Europian championship, there should not be missing the selections of the Europian countries like Slovak or Czech republic." - Xavier, Slovkian event organiser.

After all the work put into the qualifier for the event, and the preperation the team put in thinking that they would be entering the finals, it is unfortunate that they will no longer be able to participate. Perhaps the Slovakian community will be entered into next years Samsung European Championships event.
