Girls can take it

Let's get a more in-depth look to your esport activities, besides gaming. What is exactly your role in FeminaGaming, which is now known as Feminaunited?
I was with my own project "Loew" (League of extraordinary women). It was a league that I created online, it was very significative for the ESWC 2004, when there were no qualifiers at all, and from there I wanted to make the project bigger, but I didn't have much look with the coders / designers till now.... While that was being "done", Le1a contacted me, to ask if I wanted to help out in FeminaGaming. I accepted but told them I would stay with them till my own project would be done, cos I couldn't be writting in both sites. She said, ok no problem... but since my luck with the page didn't go any better, I've been with them all this time.

But how on earth is such an important project left without any material support since 2 years, while random teams' websites are popping up around everyday?
Well the website I want, is not just a random one, I request so much stuff which is not easy to do, nor cheap if you ask a company. I had some people interested into the project, and they all started full of energy and done some interesting stuff for the site, but sooner or later got too bored or too busy... some others just got lost, like the earth ate them. I started with different people four or five times and lately I decided to leave the idea for a while, cos it's making me crazy. I also asked a company to find out how much it would cost, but they told me something incredibly expensive which I could never pay xD

Usually, when people talk about the female scene, the nick which is always evoked is... aNouC. Have you ever thought about giving up, even if many people were counting on you, when you got too much things to carry on?
Sometimes, when I had a bad day or when things were turning too bad around me, maybe I thought for a minute about giving up and just banish from the scene. But then theres something that still tells me it's not time to leave yet, not like that, not without doing still some of the things I always wanted to do or not without creating some of the projects I thought that would be important for the scene... At the same time, I also thought about taking a real job related to gaming, because it's a world I really enjoy.

Females are imposing themselves more in more to males in the esport scene. Do you think you, Anne Mathews (fnatic staff) or Lilie (FPA) are the future of female scene? Do you have any other project to make the female scene grow even further?
I don't know about the future... things move fast and the scene grows nonstop, so I guess we all are at least the present and that's what counts. The future will depend on all of us, and I guess we can be glad that it looks so healthy at the moment, so that probably means we will have a quite interesting future!

Like imp told me in a previous interview, women sell when it's related to esport sponsorship. Is it your opinion?

Well, women are getting attention nowadays, and all that involves attention, is interesting for the sponsors in general words, almost matters more the attention you get than the way you play and some teams are abusing on that which I don't think it's 100% right of course it's important to have our sponsors happy and keep them interested on our projects, otherwise we die but we also don't want those teams that are being seen as a bunch of beautiful hostesses which nobody really cares if they can even manage a mouse but are getting a big amount of attention that harms our goals as gamers.

What's the story behind your Quake tattoo?
haha. It was seven years ago... I was playing Quake and the game meant a big change on my life, in all senses. I thought the symbol would mean a lot to me and probably for many people out there, would just look like a tribal.

Ok Ana, it's time to say goodbye. Thank you for your time, and we wish you the best of luck with redCode, Feminaunited and ESL Spain. Any last shoutouts?
Hell no, I think I've been talking like forever! Want to thank you for your time doing that interview at that time (1:27) and send lots of hugs to my teammates, because it wouldn't be the same without them and to Tim for these three years. (Happy Valentines day btw!)

I don't know so much about cs scene but i am always wondering why the girls and boys aren't in the same leagues... Why to separate them? What are the differences that aNouC say about male and female divisions?

#17 That's up to every female team. There are Female leagues, so we have the rights to play it and earn some money. Actually it is really fun to play against girls only on those events. At the same time, every team is free to play the "normal" events, nobody stops them to do so. If you check closely, you will find out that they DO play, but that has less media coverage. For example I play the ESL Ladder in Spain with my CS team. We won two matches from three so far, and we will continue there. We also want to take part on EAS and try to access to the EPS like every other spanish team. So I think it's up to everyone and I respect everything.

And what do you mean when you say

"I think, from the beginning, x6tence were not always prepared for a female squad and our differences." ? What are those diff?
