StarCraft Starlets - Linea

bannersc
Hello Linea, could you please introduce yourself to the readers?
My Name is Tamara Kolodziejska, I live in poland and I'm 19 years old. Amongst other things I do e-sports in my free time.

How did you get started with gaming? Is it the typical story of a boyfriend or a brother that got you hooked?
My cousin showed me StarCraft a few years ago and with Counter-Strike it was my team captain FF.ATI.Lola who showed me the game and somehow it continued from there.

What is it that got you addicted to StarCraft and what are the things you love about it?
This game is addicting but not in such a manner that it makes me play it ALL the time. I enjoy the thinking that is needed to master this game.

Linea

Which teams have you played StarCraft for and under what nicknames?
I played in teams like 3wD razZ but currently in the pulse and Some under the name Alve.

What race do you play and why this race?
I have always been a Terran user because they are IMBA, ToSsGirl plays Terran NaDa terran so Terran will always be the best race in the world!

What is your favourite matchup?
I like playing against Protoss the most. Terran versus Terran takes too long, plus it's difficult and to play against Zerg is so simple.

Recently you have made the move from StarCraft to Counter-Strike, what do you think of Counter-Strike?

Counter-Strike is very addictive. You never get bored since there is always something happening!

So you are still an active StarCraft player?
At the moment I am not, since I am devoting more time to Counter-Strike, but it is likely that this will change.

Which of the two games do you prefer? StarCraft or Counter-Strike?
To be honest I prefer StarCraft, but at the moment Counter-Strike is more interresting for me. But I don't know, perhaps sometime soon I will be playing StarCraft again.

Your Counter-Strike team FearFactory.ATI has been doing really well in Poland, beating Pentagram in the ESWC qualifier. How long have you girls been playing together?
Yes, we it has been going great, I am very proud of them! I have been playing with these girls for a long time and I intend to keep doing so. We are the oldest female clan in Poland, previously known as BadGirls.Poland.

Linea

How do you feel about going to the ESWC finals in Paris?
I can unfortunately not go, because of my 3 week absence and illness. But I think the girls are ready.

How do you think they will do and what place can they reach?
I really don't know what they will be able to do, I hope they will do well.

Are there any teams you really want to beat at ESWC and who will be your biggest competitors?
There isn't really any specific team we want to beat. I want to beat [red]nada :(

I see more and more teams climbing up and more good polish players starting to impress, what are your thoughts on this?
We have quite a few good StarCraft players and also in other games we have some well known players and teams like Blackman and Pentagram, so I guess you could say e-sports is doing well.

Recently there have been new talents coming from poland like av3k in Quake 4 and SunCow in StarCraft, is e-sports popular amongst the polish youth?
It is hard for me to say anything about the Quake 4 scene or any other games beside Counter-Strike and StarCraft, but SunCow is quite an interesting player who showed quite a lot on WCG 2005.

Are there alot of polish kids that want to become a progamer?
I think there are quite alot that want this, everyone wanted to become a famous polish player like SunCow.

Is it possible to live off progaming in Poland and is this something you have as a goal?
There are a few people who could live from it. If I had to guess it would be Blackman, Raven and SunCow in StarCraft. But frankly I wouldn't want to be a progamer. It is so difficult!

Linea

What kind of job do you have now?
I do modelling as a job.

In the modelling business, do they find it strange that you are a gamer?
I don't really tell anyone that I am a gamer, no one has to know about it.

Do you feel strange when you tell people you play games?
No, It's good now that women in e-sports is not a strange thing anymore but getting normal. I think it doesn't really matter whether it's a girl or a boy. Everyone should just do what they enjoy.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not gaming?
Long walks in particular now that the weather is nice and warm. I also enjoy reading and watching movies like everyone else.

Thank you for the interview, is there anything you would like to add?
I would like to give a shoutout to a few friends of mine, LanFanTeRRoR, Kuja, FF.ATI, USSR.DarK and Crescent Shaped Bun. Play hard go pro :P
