How does it feel, being the reigning female champion of StarCraft?
My goal is to stay at the top in normal leagues, not female leagues. Honestly, I don't expect to win the championship spot in normal leagues, but I also want other females to play in normal leagues, not just female leagues. If this happens, I will get alot more satisfaction from playing in the leagues than before.
If we (female gamers) try hard and many females get to play in normal leagues, I will get more competition.
Are there many females that play in normal leagues? Which other female gamers do?
I must get myself into normal leagues first, before I can think about other female gamers.
It is even hard for me as a female league champion to get into normal leagues,
so it would be hard to choose who would actually be the ones that will be playing in normal leagues.
Traditional gender roles still exist in korea, does this make it hard for you to be a female progamer? And was this also the reason there were people starting anti-websites when you first started?
Female leagues are basically "gone" these days. Female leagues that are being held these days are more like a special event.
Honestly, since we are not as good as male gamers, audiences don't get the same satisfaction from watching us play as they do from the male leagues. Few female gamers play really well, but this is only a few. There are not enough female gamers to create good female leagues.
The difference between male and female gamers is that female gamers must improve by themselves, without the help of other gamers. This is because there is too much difference between them.
Do you think that female gamers will ever catch up and beat male players?
Yes I do think it's possible. I started living in our progaming practice house last october. After that, I was confident to play against male gamers, and increased my practice time. When I played against Yellow at last year's WCG, I heard that he was in very bad condition, but I was happy when I beat him. This gave me more confidence to play better than male gamers.
I heard Boxer is getting lots of anti's too. I think there are people who only think about their own opinion. When I was young, I didn't know anything about that. When there were only male gamers out there, I was the only female. And since I became the first female progamer, there were threads about me on Korean forums where they started to talk about me more than about male gamers. It's like they think I took another male progamer's position.
I don't know why I must look really bad to them, but having anti's is better than being unknown in my opinion. Now I am more mature, so I feel less pressure than before. But when I was in high school, I tried so hard that I lost over 8 kilograms.

Female gaming didn't seem to be a big focus of hers actually. Her main focus was doing well in the mixed/non-gendered leagues. Probably because she has already conquered the female leagues and needs not worry herself about that =X.

#2 that's the perfect answer. And it's correct. U only use ur head in a video game.. not ur body, right? I really thinks she could kick Boxer's ass...

K guys..I think this is what you meant..cuz it makes much more sense. She should have an equal opportunity to claim champion in the normal leagues. Wether you're male or female just doens't matter when it comes down to how good you are.
