myMYM.com puts LiiLD.C in the spotlight with an interview regarding his status, recent life and thoughts about his squad's change of organizations.
The 18-year-old Swede has decided to take a year off his education to focus primarily on his career as a professional player, and believes that his career is taking a turn for the better.
Hello Daniel, let us know what LiilD.C is doing in real life right now: school, holidays or work?
Hey out there, I ended school on 28th May, since that I've been living my life as a progamer. When the weather has allowed me, I've been at the beach at the day and played during the evening/night. When it's bad weather I've tried to play as much as possible. Atm I am also playing some CS just for fun and preparing for upcoming events.
Maybe you're going to surprise us and change platform? As we all know, Sweden is popular for its Counter-Strike teams. Will we see LiilD.C in SK.Cs?
Haha, my skill in CS is not that good tbh. I'm rather happy having positive stats on a public server, so I'm not even thinking about changing platforms.
I hope so because, as we can see, you're in a great shape; very good show at DreamHack and nice results in clan matches prove it. How did you improve so much?
I didn't like my performance at DreamHack so much. Qualifying for ESWC was my main goal and I more or less threw away that chance. I'm proud of my results in the official tournament though. After I ended school, I tried to work on every matchup and look over every map, what works and what doesn't. I practised hard and I guess that's why the results came.

Currently, are you training any sports in real life, to keep your body in the best form?
I've always been a sport guy. I started training both handball and football when I was about 6. I quit football when I had to choose between handball and football when I was 15. After that I've been training handball and gym around 5-6 times a week.
At the moment I'm playing in the 2nd division with an adult team. I'm the youngest player and I think that soon it will be time to choose between a career in handball and Warcraft 3.
And what will LiilD.C choose?
As it's looking right now I gain more from Warcraft 3 and I take the handball on 2nd hand. I've lost some of my motivation in handball but who knows, maybe some day I will sign a contract and focus on that instead.
When and how your career really started? Which game was first for Daniel and why you've choosen Warcraft III instead of anything else?
It started for about 3-4 years ago I think, don't remember exactly. My big brother introduced me to the game and I started playing it. After playing alot with friends I was getting better and better, me and Sunshine shared an account and after that we got pretty good. I chose WC3 mostly because of the 1on1 format with only 1 winner every game. I'm a competitive guy.

Now you are famous, that's for sure. Does your friends know that you are a professional gamer who gets money from playing games and do they accept your work? How about fans, do you have some kind of fanclubs in Sweden or so?
Yeah my friends do know about it, most of them play World of Warcraft or Counter Strike. They accept it and think it's pretty cool. I don't know much about my fans, if I have any in Sweden.
Sweden, beautiful country with beautiful blonde women and very good players in Warcraft and Counter Strike. Just around 2 weeks ago we had DreamHack and ESWC Qualifications as I mentioned. In the first tournament you took second place, but in qualifications you were defeated very fast. Could you explain us what exactly happened there?
Sure. The qualification started out great - after beating Sase with 2-1 I felt safe to advance to semifinal. After Effect beat Fury 2-0 in the other group I wanted to end 2nd in my group to avoid Fury and face Effect.
I had this in the back of my head when I played Dowaq, I didn't play my usual demon/panda 2 lore strat on SV which I regret very much and I ended up losing 1-2. Still I was confident about beating Whooly 2-0 the next day and make a tie with Dowaq and Sase (since the only result for Dowaq-Sase which I didn't want to happen was 2-1 to Sase, happened).
I won the first map vs Whooly very easy and then I underestimated him and played warden on SV (which I usually don't) and lost the game. All credit to Whooly ofc for playing very good, I just regret my strategies and wish I could go back in time.
You said that you were practising hard for that tournament. How does your day usually look like, including real life, before big tournaments and just a common day, without bigger tournaments or important matches?
I usally go up around 11-12 and turn on my PC. Chat some with friends and go into mirc, ventrillo and msn. Breakfast, talk with friends and play/observ games. Dinner around 16 and some training pass at home with my dumbbells.
On the weekdays nothing special happens on the evenings. On Friday/Saturday I usually go out and party. Before tournaments I try to play more and chill less (observing, chatting). Training hard for me is around 5 hours per day and a lot of thinking about strats, build order, etc.
It seems that you should be well prepared for every single tournament, but you have strong opponents in Sweden. Who's the biggest opponent?
My strongest opponent is Sase who practised alot in China and now he has great experience from playing at big LAN tournaments.

When you are playing clan wars, it's obvious that you have to cooperate, but is it hard to face your friends as opponents in individual tournaments?
Yeah it's hard, since we practise a lot together so we know what the other guy will do. You have to think a bit longer than usually and change some small details. I think losing to friends hurts more than losing to randoms too.
You are just around one week after ESWC Masters. Very impressive victory against winner of the whole tournament - Moon, but in the end you lost in the group stage. Are you satisfied with this result?
I think I was in the group of death with 3 koreans, so I didn't go to this tournament with very big expectations. I'm very happy that I beat moon and yaws but still dissappointed with my pretty bad games vs who and fov.
One of the biggest surprises in this tournament was mTw-whO (4th place), one week after he won against Moon in the AllStars tournament. Did you expect that result?
Before the tournament I felt confident about playing against whO and thought I would win. Then when we got to play each other on LAN he dominated me from the start to the end. I got surprised cause I know he was good but not that good as he showed there.
He beating Moon in the Allstars tournament was a shocking result for me too. I heard some infos about Moon playing weird strats and so on, so maybe that's why he lost. In Masters, Moon won pretty easy vs whO in my opinion.
This was the first tournament of ESWC Masters. Are you satisfied?
It was the first international tournament for me so I didn't have high expectations, I thought it would be fun to play koreans on LAN, which it was. A great experience for me, I also had pracc games with Sky and Luci at the internet café so I'm very happy about ESWC Masters, from pracc wise to hotel, food (very expensive though), tournament organisation and so on.
There was nothing particular I disliked except that me and kn0ff arrived at Beavaus airport which was far away from Bercy village where we played and slept. I calculated out that within 24 hours I was in 5 different transport vehicles for around 10-11 hours. And another thing that surprised me was the French, not many of them could speak English and even if you told them "I don't speak French" they kept talking in French.
We heard that you decided to take a year off to focus on your career as a progamer. Is it true?
Yeah I ended my last year in school on 29th may and since then I've been a progamer. I will now focus on gaming for around 1 year and try my best to be one of the top players in the world.
After I ended school I went through my matchups and tried to improve them all. My practice hours still depend alot on which day in the week it is but I play at least a few games every day and ofc watch a lot of replays. I hope I will produce even better results later on, just need some time I think. I've gone some way but still far to go to reach the top of the world.
We also heard that knOfF will focus on gaming too. Is it true?
Yeah he ended school at the same time as I did. I'm pretty sure he will focus only on the gaming for some time now. I don't know how long though.

PGS.wc3.int left their organisation and joined not well known german team - nGize. Could you tell us what was the most important reason of that move? Are you satisfied with the cooperation at this day?
I think Lloth wrote a pretty good statement why we changed and so on. So far I;ve seen pretty much nothing from nGize, but that could be because of the fact we joined 1 week or less ago. But I think nGize will help us improve as a team with a stable organisation standing behind. For me as a player I'll just try to focus on good results and let the managers handle the organisation part.
PGS wasn't that stable? You were playing for this organisation for half a year. Do you think that they don't deserve to have a good wc3 team?
I think PGS didn't really have what it takes to run a good international wc3 team. They are polish and maybe they should have a full polish wc3 team instead. Think that would suit PGS more.
What is your main aim right now, in e-Sports of course?
I have some goals atm. One was to play either ESWC or WCG, the ESWC chance is gone now so I have to focus on WCG instead. Second goal was to go to China or Korea to play a tournament or more, that's a life time experience I think, to feel the atmosphere and the life around gaming there. Third goal is mainly just to improve my skill, win a lot of matches in WC3L and NGL, place top 3 in every tournament I play. So the goal is, more or less be one of the best players in the world.
Besides those tournaments, are there any other which are very important for you at this time?
NGL/WC3L is on my top list. After ESWC I didn't schedule any special tournaments, let's see what the future holds for me.
We wish you good luck then. We hope to see you in glory as soon as it is possible. Thanks a lot for the interview!
I wanna thank nGize for taking us over and I hope we can show great results in every league we participate in. Thanks to all of you who support me, Cu gg gl hf.
