THE PRODUCT

Another new mouse from Razer for their beloved gamers, this time it’s Razer Lanchesis Muta (Muta - a: The largest pit viper in the world. b: Latin. Bring of silence death.) which comes in a sexy black box. As always, Razer Lachesis has extremely high DPI - 4000 (twice more as Razer Copperhead which has 2000dpi) and also 9 buttons (highest number of buttons on any Razer mice, such as Diamondback and Copperhead, is 7) and this time it comes in two colors, blue as always and white (which means by your choice you can have scroll button and Razer logo lightning or not by just clicking few times in Razer Lachesis Control Panel. When talking about design of Lachesis, it's slightly different from Razer Deathadder or IE 3.0 but it feels pretty same but I find Razer Boomslang pretty same as Lachesis which looks modern and will be comfortable for both left and right handers! Razeris again using the same killing skin as before with which your hand won't slip from mouse and you will be able to defeat enemy even with your hands wet.

Control Panel looks pretty much same as any other Razer’s mouse, but you can have 5 various profiles which means you can have different configuration for games, which is awesome! So you can have high sensitivity in RPG game and low sensitivity and different binds in FPS games etc. Control Panel is really easy and even if you don’t know a lot about computers you will find it easy to use and as you have 9 buttons you can handle pretty much everything you need in games as you can configure any of the buttons so you don’t really need to be smart to find formula for triumph.

Now, let’s jump into games for which this mouse was made for. Like always, I’m using several games to test this mouse, they are Quake IV, Counter-Strike, Call Of Duty 4 and World Of Warcraft. All the games I tried with several mouse pads too feel the real advantages of the mouse. Starting with my favorite – Counter-strike it took some time to find sensitivity but it was pretty interesting while playing to use middle buttons to lower and higher my DPI so in my position I was able to change sensitivity very fast and it made my game faster and better, as I was able to pick pretty much any shot which led to other players whining a lot. After a week I kept playing all these games and it was even more fun playing games after I found Razer Lachesis which made my gaming better, I even felt my aim becoming more precise and it’s really soft and your hand won’t get tired of working and gaming with Lachesis. I could find just one thing I disliked in Lachesis which was size of the mouse as I’m into bigger mice, also and the price of Lachesis which is quote expensive comparing to other mice in the market, but as we all know good stuff always costs a little bit more, so I can’t really call it a disadvantage. By the way, next review will be Razer Lycosa which is their newest keyboard in the market.

COMMENTS

"When I was first asked to put the Razer Lachesis through its paces, I was skeptical that this mouse would be as good as its astounding dpi rating suggests. After weeks of testing, however, I can truly and honestly report that it lives up to all the hype. This product is a big milestone in the history of gaming peripherals. Granted, its ergonomic design is very different from what we've seen so far, but the amazing technology built into the Razer Lachesis' extraordinary hull makes it, without question, the most complete mouse gamers will have the pleasure of using for some time to come." - Korea, South Young Mo "enemy" Ahn, Counter-Strike 1.6, Lunatic-hai

"The Razer Lachesis is a one-of-a-kind product. When it comes to competitive gaming, you'll need to push the limits of fairness if you want to succeed. With the features available in the Razer Lachesis, I can do just that. Being able to switch between 32 dpi settings enables me to fine-tune the mouse to suit my playstyle immaculately, minimizing wrong movements and maximizing my in-game performance." - Korea, South Beom Ho "mal" Choi, Counter-Strike 1.6, Lunatic-hai

"Although it took some getting used to after using the Razer Diamondback 3G, I found the Razer Lachesis to be the most accurate mouse I've ever used, especially at high sensitivity levels. I changed my style of play simply to suit this mouse and so far I haven't looked back." – Australia Andrew "AND1" McGrath, CoD4, Sequential Gaming

"This thing just won't quit. No matter what game, no matter what sensitivity, it keeps pace like no other. The Razer Lachesis is my personal weapon of choice for professional gaming." – Canada Robert "blackpanther" Tyndale, Counter-Strike 1.6, Team EG

"In the Lachesis, Razer has made something so flawless and custom-tailored to the needs of a gamer that to use it feels like cheating. However they did it, I can't get enough." - United State- Jason "stryfe" Dourlaris, UT3, Team EG

"When I tried the Razer DeathAdder, I thought I had experienced the pinnacle of mousing. With the Lachesis, Razer has proved my assumption dead wrong. I hope they continue to prove me wrong, mouse after mouse." - United State- Annie "Ecstacy" Leung, UT3, Team EG

This just sounds like an average tv-shop commercial, I still cant belive mym is willing to sell integrity for sponsorship. I'm not saying this is a bad product but why not give a good product the credit it deserves by actually reviewing it instead of just writing a bunch of bullshit? I could easily write a "review" like this without event trying the mouse, just take standart praising, mix with tv-shop rethoric and add a bit of made-up comments.

I've gone through a lot of mouses, i still prefer MSI 3.0 IE and Razer DeathAdder, not because of their technology or anything, but because they (unlike most other mouses) fit my hand, with the high back, a bit broad and so on. The mx series is too narrow for my hand, the same is the diamondsbacks, and the copperhead was just pathetic in my hand.

I've been using this mouse for about 2 months now, absolutely **no** complaints. It took about 2 days to get used to it's shape and size since I got small hands and I can safely say it's improved my gaming ability (especially Warcraft 3 ladder) by about 30%. I've always had the talent for fast-paced micro but never had the mouse to perform or execute my abilities accurately until recently.

I've tried the DeathAdder and the MX518, I can safely say DeathAdder > MX518 for Warcraft 3 ladder since I've only tested it on that game. And now, I can safely say Lachesis > DeathAdder. The design allows me to cnotrol it with just tip-half of each of my fingers (aka holding it lighly) and without moving my arm at all I can micro an entire army effortlessly. The only thing moving is my hand, my wrist stays statically positioned on my mousepad.

All this is done on a crappy mousepad so far and it's already crazy good. I plan on getting the new RAZER Goliathus mousepad soon to improve my Lachesis' performance (cuz my current mousepad is rly rly bad =/, I mean it's got coffee stains on it).

You just have to find the right combination of DPI, Sensitivity, and Acceleration for you and your gaming style.

10/10, I'm not even easily a fan of anything but I have to be honest here, this mouse is.........................GOOD. 10/10 perfect. Zero Complaints.

The positions of the extra buttons may seem weird at first for some but try practicnig with them and actually using them into your gameplay and you'll see how much easier it is when you have macros and hotkeys on them
