Event Manager of GameGune speaks

Hello Jon, could you please introduce to our readers?

My name is Jon C. Cubas Díaz, but i am also known as "Jukka". I was born in the late 80's and started getting involved in gaming as a BF player, but very soon I found out what I did best was organizing events and managing teams. After working for inTruders(es) and Lunatic-hai(kr) I received an offer from RC-GAMING SL last summer, which I decided not to decline. Since then I have been working in that company as Event Manager.

As far as I know; this is your first GameGune event that you are an organizer of. Could you tell us about your past experience?

Yes, this is my first GameGune and to be honest it is also the first major event I coordinate. Anyway I have already worked for many organizations and helped at the organization of local LANs in Bilbao. My whole team has also a lot of past experience, not only in smaller events but in the GameGune itself. I have also worked in eSports clubs like redCode.XFi and , even if not that long, for Lunatic-hai.

What do you do besides organizing GameGune?

I do also work for an eSports Club, owned by the company I work for. Besides that I was accepted at the University of Heidelberg after I graduated, and after the summer break I will start studying there. But I enjoy mostly hanging around with my friends and going to parties and clubs(MMB)

What's the favorite part of the job for you?

I like the job on the whole, but when people asks me what i like most I use to give them this example:

In the 2005 event, which I attended just as a spectator, many kids under 13 years were just watching the event at the Lan Party and telling each other who HeatoN was, that he was the best player ever, etc. After that match HeatoN went to them and signed some autographs and mousepads to those kids. You can surely imagine how happy they were. The smile of a kid is priseless. Besides that I enjoy working to rise spanish gaming to a higher level.

Tell us about a recent event that you enjoyed conducting?

I have been working on the GameGune for about 6 months so there is no other event I conducted recently. It takes a lot of time first to contract the right people, then to contact clans, negotiate with sponsors and finally get the stage, screens, PCs, and all the material such a tournament needs. Not only me, but the GameGune crew has been working hard for months.
