TESTING

First off I would like to thank Razer who does such an excellent job for all gamers by making the life of a competitive player much easier with their various products.

Over the coming months a will take a look at a range of products from Razer and to start with, their newest mouse called Deathadder. With this design Razer has focused on making a mouse for people using their right hand. The mouse is black with a cool blue Razer logo on the top, which is how most of the Razer products look like. A permanent visual aid whilst playing in the dark for that matter!
We all know that the mouse is probably the most important tool for a serious gamer and that is why Razer has added a CD containing the right drivers so that you can tweak the Deathadder to your own needs. You will also receive an information booklet to help you understand the product, and how it works.

To start with, I would like to tell you more about the DeathAdder Driver software which is really easy to use. You can change various performance settings such as the Polligon Rate, the Dpi Setting and the Sensitivity, just to name a few, right across to the Light-Options which means you can easily turn on or off the scroll button lighting or front-glow, so it is facilitated to find everything you need, who could ask for more?

The mouse buttons on the Deathadder are made from rubber, so you don't need to worry about having moist hands (from all the intense playing), and they are not easily damaged. There are two main buttons, a wheel on the front of the mouse and two extra side-buttons, which are fully customizable. As mentioned earlier, the Deathadder is only suitable for right handed people as Razer has not yet launched a universal type.

Moving onto the infrared sensor, the Deathadder has been drastically improved compared to previous Razer mice. This means that the mouse is highly sensitive, but at the same time, obedient - meaning that the cursor wont jump when you raise or pull on it. This is really important if you like to play with weapons such as snipers, as it means your aim will be precision perfect, enabling you to hit those tricky shots.

The special Razer software allows you to program the two extra side-buttons. You are able to assign each button various commands. This really helps you a lot if you play games such as WoW, where you need to do several things at once. You can even set the mouse response time - 8 ms, 2 ms, 1 ms. The best choice for highspeed gaming is of course - 1ms.

I arrived at the point where I had to test the Deathadder for myself in-game. I turned on "Call of duty 2" and went to war. Compared to other mice, I could easily feel and see the difference. My aim started to improve and the mouse sensitivity of the Deathadder helped a lot. I also found it to be very useful asigning different commands to the extra-side keys, it truely gave me the edge in key fights.

CONCLUSION

It is always tricky to tell which mouse to buy, due to the fact that there are so many different models out on the market today, however, having thoroughly tested this mouse, i can confidently claim it to be one of the best, if not the best, mouse i have ever used. And now I'm ready for World War 3, bring it on!

COMMENTS

Sweden cArn from fnatic: I feel really comfortable as a previously MS 3.0 to switch over to Razers DeathAdder. It´s feels even more natural in your hand and since the technology within is far more advanced than the 3.0 I think it´s fair to say I´ve enhanced my game with it. The movement feels more natural and smooth with the deathadder and I love the fact that it is 500 hz (polling rate) as default.

Finland naSu from N69E28: It's very comfortable and due to its new technology (1000Hz, 1800dpi) it feels much smoother than the MX5xx series which I previously used. Simply put; It eats other mice - It's the Ferrari of mice.

Denmark ArcadioN from SoA: I think the deathadder is a great mouse. It reminds me off the MS 3.0, and since I've been using that mouse for quite some time, it was no problem for me to switch, to be honest i feel even more confident with the razer mouse, since it's slightly smaller which suits my hand quite nicely. Besides that, I've never experienced any fails with mouse, and the technology in the mouse is some of the best out there.

Germany Notorious1H from pod.hama: It's a pretty good mouse, made by razer, which is comparable to the intelli 3.0 concerning to its feeling to play with. I feel stable with this mouse and it's very nice that it has got 1000 hz support. All in all a great mouse!

Dont really like the shape of Razer's mice overall. I prefer the mx5 series of Logitech. But what I do like about the Razer mice's are the click buttons.
